The Tyne Bridge
was designed by engineering firm Mott, Hay and Anderson, who later
designed the Forth Road Bridge, and was built by Dorman, Long and
Co. of Middlesborough. It was officially opened on October 9, 1928
by George V, and actually completed in March 1929. |
